World AIDS Day

On world AIDS day, I wanted to share with you a few thoughts on why we as a church must do something about this. Jesus speaks in Matthew 25:36, 40, 45-46

36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
46"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

Notice that the unrighteous are sent to eternal punishment for not doing these things. The righteous are counted as people who do what verse 36 says. Visit WorldVision for a really thought provoking interactive program they have where you get to see what it's like to have AIDS in Africa, as well as the stereotypes and stigma those infected have to face. Many of them got it because their parent got it and passed it on to them, many are infected as a result of rape, and others as a result of their own sinful decisions. Many of them are orphans and single mothers. I hope you consider donating to WorldVision, as they are a ministry I trust with the work they are doing in Africa. And when you can, please pray for the Continent of Africa and the people there who are dying of this terrible disease.

Gay Protest Saturday Nov. 15-How will we respond?

If you haven't been watching the news, Gay groups have been marching across the state. They've marched in Salt Lake City against the Mormon church, against Saddleback Church, and today against the Los Angeles Cathedral in Los Angeles. How far will this go? Sad to say, it would seem that we are allowed to vote as long as it's for whats in vogue. But it also says that we are allowed to vote, so long as we leave behind that which is most important to us: our values and our worldview. So what are we supposed to do? This Saturday I ask that we fast and pray. If you know someone who is going to march on Saturday, take them out to eat on Friday and talk with them. Even more, listen. I know we'll disagree. As a matter of fact, they may not like our reasoning, but I think they will see that we care. After we pray, the ball is in our court. They will march against our churches, but we can respond with wild eyed extremism (the kind they make fun of on SNL), or we can respond with prayer, with love, and with a carefully reasoned case for traditional marriage. That last part was inspired due to something someone said at our New Reformation "Cheer Up Party".
The book of Luke and Acts were written to a Grecco-Roman audience with the aim of showing that Christianity is a legitimate faith amongst the many pagan faiths of the time. More so, that it was politically viable. I believe that our ideas still have weight and have much to offer. Indeed, they have shaped the Western society! I also believe that living those beliefs to their fullest (especially the mercy and compassion we have shown in the past) could well be one of the biggest testimonies to the world. So from sun up to sun down next Saturday, I'll be fasting and praying. How about you?

A prayer for California and the rest of our country....

Father,
We thank you for the many blessings you have bestowed upon us. For the freedoms, and protection you have extended. But today we see where we are as a country. We seek your guidance. We see the entrance of a new president, and a change in our country's landscape. Somewhere, your church is active. But we wonder if it's going in the right direction. This morning many of our fellow Californians rejoice, while others weep. Give us compassion for them. Give us the mercy and grace to reach out to them, even while we have the task to show them how their behavior has alienated them from you. Help us cry with them, and to love them so much we will give them the gospel and treat them as the neighbors they are. Have mercy on them Lord, by having your Spirit move amongst them, that they may turn to you, and be healed. Raise your church, let it be the first to uphold righteousness and justice in it's sphere of influence, before it seeks to move the government to do so. Forgive us where we have sought a political leader to save us, instead of the Savior. Where we have not been wise towards unbelievers, forgive us and we ask that you give us wisdom in our relationships. Where we have given millions to political causes, while neglecting the needy, forgive us. Where we have been ungracious, while preaching grace, forgive us. May we live in peace with our neighbors, as we share your gospel. May we live in a manner worthy of your name.

Please pray for the Christians of Iraq

Ok, if you haven't been watching the news, thousands of Christians in Iraq have had to flee their homes. The reason being that many of them are being killed. It really moved me to bring this issue up. I emailed an organization called Christians of Iraq. Here is what they have to say

The situation of the Christians of Iraq has been gone from bad to worst because the central Iraqi government has done nothing to stop the violence against them, as if Iraqi ruler don't mind that Christians of their country are persecuted and driven out of their homeland. Some reports indicate thathttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif the Iraqi security forces are involved in terrorizing the Christians. The only solution would be for the Bush administration and the UN to pressure the Iraqi government to protect its Christian citizens which so far it has failed to do .. Please read the latest articles about this subject. at and http://www.christiansofiraq.com

People who wish to help have to promptly call the white house and their members of congress to ask them put pressure on the Iraqi government to stop the terror against its Christian citizens. The villages weher the Mosul's refugees have taken shelter in are in dire need of assistance.
The Red Cross and Red Crescent have been notified but no assistance from these organizations has come yet.

Please, call, email, write, your local congressmen today and ask them to make sure our soldiers are helping in the area. Speak up for these people. They are a minority and thus have us to call on. Please pray as I get the word out. here are a few websites
Find your local congressman or woman and call them now
http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/

To donate and get more info from an organization that deals with this please go to
http://www.persecution.com/

OK Heres what I also want you to do: I want at least a couple hundred of you to go to
http://www.redcross.org/

and TELL THEM TO GET INTO THIS AREA. If they need money, give it. You can spare 5 bucks. Every little bit counts.

Pray you guys.

Frank!

The Prayer of the Arminian by Charles Spurgeon

"Lord, I thank thee I am not like those poor presumptuous Calvinists Lord, I was born with a glorious free-will; I was born with power by which I can turn to thee of myself; I have improved my grace. If everybody had done the same with their grace that I have, they might all have been saved. Lord, I know thou dost not make us willing if we are not willing ourselves. Thou givest grace to everybody; some do not improve it, but I do. There are many that will go to hell as much bought with the blood of Christ as I was; they had as much of the Holy Ghost given to them; they had as good a chance, and were as much blessed as I am. It was not thy grace that made us to differ; I know it did a great deal, still I turned the point; I made use of what was given me, and others did not-that is the difference between me and them."

Prayer Request for Dr. Bob

As many of you know, I'm friends with the people at Biblicalthought and their church. Their pastor Dr. Bob was rushed to the hospital yesterday. It's looking like he'll be ok, but it didn't look good for a while. Two of the BT guys drove to Las Vegas last night to help out. Please keep them in prayer.

Todd Bentley sepearates from wife

Confirmed on Fresh Fires Website and in Charisma Magazine's page as well. It's not a time for rejoicing. It's a time for prayer. Prayer for the many people who attend the Lakeland "outpouring" and will be hurt by the news. Prayer for the Bentley's who may be trying to work it out. Prayer for that movement that God will do some serious shifting in how they do things. I'm not convinced that a lot of those people aren't saved, but I just find it VERY hard to think that this and this or even THIS is from God.
I'm sure more will come out in the next couple of days.

More Todd Bently and Jim Carrey!

see this video and can't help but think of

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We laugh. But notice that in the first video the gentleman pulls out his bible to see where we could ever find an instance of anyone doing such things to heal someone. Yep, I dare say the reason people go to these places is because they have not opened their Bible to get informed on what real revival is and when and how healing does or doesn't happen. I lay the blame on Pastors who have not done their duty to be discerning. I also blame these guys that stalk on people's hopes that maybe they can get out of their pain and suffering. My prayers go out to them.

Prayer Requests

From time to time there are things that I feel the need to ask for you my viewers prayer for.
1. My friend Jonathan (and his big head)
He's on his way back froma month long missions trip in Taiwan. Here's the vid he made.
He has said that coming back might be hard tommorow because of a typhoon. So pray he and his team make it back ok.

2. My health. After my trip I've noticed I will have to get used to sleeping on a bed. My back is somewhat sore from sleeping on a hard wood floor. Also my voice is kind of hoarse from all the interpreting I did this week. I had to raise my voice for the crowds to hear me.

3. Glenn. My pal (link is on the side) is going through a tough time and you can read about it at his blog if you wish.

4. FCC. Many things are being reported. Not sure what to make of it, but I love those guys and thin its one of my favorite churches ever. Pray for the whole pastoral staff and the members.
5. The BOOK! Ok, It is still in limbo, but I think something is salvageable and will be talking about it to my boss.

Praise Reports
On another note I have some praise reports.
1. The trip went well and I made some new friends. I also got some pretty cool perspective on my life and I almost feel like someone (we know who don't we?) hit the reset button.
2. My friend Mig is working on a comic book. Yay!
3. My mom got a car, so now my sister may be able to drive herself around sooner. Yay!
4. I'm alive and doing well.

Our respectable heresies.....

OK class, what's wrong with this?

Prayer Request.....

Hello, this is Frank. Yes, THE Frankfusion who writes these posts for you as often as I can. I am in need of your prayers. I have to pay off school in order to walk next month. So, if you could please keep me in prayer as I look for something (It seems everywhere I go they aren't hiring) or if you know somewhere that's hiring. It's a bit frustrating and trying, but I shall endeavor to trust the Lord. Thanks everyone.
Frank!

Pease pray...

I'll be talking a bit about Kenya. Here is a blog that has a message about a Kenyan orphanage that is possible going to be burned down. Please pray. It hits home for me because my Pastor is from Kenya and he too helps with an orphanage. Please pray for his family in Kenya as well. Things are getting hard over there with all the fighting.
